• Rage - Adventure Pictures, 98 mins. (limited) - Sally Potter wrote and directed this cutting edge in which a schoolboy blogger using his cell phone to capture behind-the-scenes interviews at a seven-day New York fashion show during which an accident on the catwalk turns into a murder investigation. Dame Judi Dench, Lily Cole, Adriana Barraza, Jude Law, Steve Buscemi and Eddie Izzard are among the cast who play interviewed characters.

• Blind Date - Variance Films, 80 mins. (limited) - Stanley Tucci directs himself and Patricia Clarkson in this very equal opportunity role playing drama between a married couple grieving the death of their daughter. Blind Date was adapted by Tucci and screenwriter David Schechter from filmmaker Theo Van Gogh’s 1996 film of the same name, and is dedicated to the controversial Dutch director who was killed by a Muslim extremist in Amsterdam November 2004.
• The Blue Tooth Virgin - Regent Releasing, 80 mins. (limited)
• The Boys Are Back - Miramax, 104 mins. (limited)
• Brief Interviews with Hideous Men - IFC Films, 80 mins. (limited) - John Krasinski directs this drama about a doctoral candidate in anthropology (Julianne Nicholson) who, after her boyfriend dumps her with little explanation, tries to find out what went wrong by interviewing men to the secret thoughts that drive their behavior.
• Coco Before Chanel - Sony Pictures Classics, 105 mins. (NY and LA) -French filmmaker Anne Fontaine directs this biopic about Coco Chanel during the years leading up to her breakthough to success and fame as a designer. The little known story is fascinaring, and Audrey Tautou is brilliant as the young, fiesty and determined Coco.

• The Providence Effect - Slowhand Cinema Releasing, 92 mins (limited) - Rollon Binzer’s documentary is about the Providence St. Mel, a school on Chicago’s impoverished, high crime West Side, that is defying America’s education crisis. For the past 30 years Providence St. Mel has been sending 100% of graduating seniors to four year colleges and universities for 30 years. More than half the kids are accepted by tier one schools and the class of 2008 received more than $4.5 million in scholarships. Seeing how Providence St Mel does what other schools don’t is an education for all.
