Laura Emerick is the arts editor of the Chicago Sun-Times, where she began her career after graduating from Indiana University with a B.A. in Journalism and Environmental Science. She coordinates and oversees movie, theater, dance, and classical music coverage at the Sun-Times and also serves as the primary editor of film critic Roger Ebert (currently on medical leave). Among her passions are opera and Latin music; she also serves as Latin music/culture writer for the Sun-Times. Her all-time favorite movie is “Vertigo” (1958), with “The Leopard” (1963), “The Sweet Smell of Success” (1957), “Sunset Blvd” (1950) and “Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia” (1974) following close behind.
