Midnighters posterMoral questions arise on a daily basis but it’s our seemingly obvious decisions that make us good people. When two people get married they vow to love one another in sickness and health, for richer or poorer, for better or worse. They essentially promise to be faithful in morality to one person for the rest of their time on Earth. IFC Midnight brings us the new film Midnighters with a whole slew of what if’s and how far would you go for the one you love. While driving home from a New Year’s Eve party, Lindsey and Jeff’s already strained marriage is tested again and again when they hit a man with their car and must figure out what to do with him. At the heart of the film, greed, and self-preservation are the motivating factors that send this couple into a tailspin of horror.

midnighters stillMidnighters has truly sharp editing, not surprising considering its director is Julius Ramsay. The Walking Dead fans should recognize his name. Alongside his brother  Alston Ramsay who penned the script, the film is brimming with twists. You may think you know what’s coming next, but you have no idea. Marriage is difficult enough without adding murder to your list of casual issues. There are a few fantastic one-liners and some “torture porn” moments that will really make you squirm. Not the mention the action starts from the get-go.

Cast members Alex Essoe (Starry Eyes, Tales of Halloween) and Perla Haney-Jardine (Steve Jobs, Spider-Man 3), Dylan McTee (MTV’s “Sweet Vicious”) and Ward Horton (Annabelle, The Wolf of Wall Street) have a slick chemistry that slowly burns the mayhem into your brain.  Midnighters will keep you engrossed from start to finish and in horror what more can you ask for, really?

IFC MIDNIGHT will release MIDNIGHTERS in theaters and on VOD and Digital HD on March 2, 2018
