  • Food, Inc. – Magnolia Pictures, 94 mins, opens wider – This compelling documentary about the food industry in the US is important to anyone who eats, and, more particularly, is repsonsible for feeding children.
  • The Proposal – Touchstone Pictures, 102 mins. – Anne Fletcher directs this romantic comedy in which Sandra Bullock plays a pushy boss who forces her male assistant (Ryan Reynolds) to marry her so she can retain her Visa status to stay in the U.S. The screenplay was written by Jennifer Kirby, who is really a man named Peter Chiarelli.
  • Dead Snow – IFC, 90 mins.
  • Under Our Skin – Open Eye Pictures, 109 mins. – An informative documentary about the effects of Lyne disease and what’s necessary to prevent and treat it.
  • Whatever Works – Sony Pictures, 90 mins., limited in NY and LA
