- Cold Souls – Samuel Goldwyn – Sophie Barthes wrote and directed this quirky dramady which features several terrific female performances, including that of Katheryn Winnick as Sveta, a woman who transports souls while trying to keep her own in tact.
- G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra -Paramount, 118 mins.
- Julie & Julia– Columbia, 123 mins. – Writer-director Nora Ephron’s feature focuses on two strong women–Julia Child and Julie Powell–as played by two exceptional actresses, Meryl Streep and Amy Adams, respectively.
- Paper Heart – Overture Films, 88 mins., limited NY – Newcomer Charlyne Yi co-wrote and stars in this road trip comedy about a young woman (Yi) who sets off to make a documentary about not believing in love but finds herself in a romance.
- A Perfect Getaway – Rogue Pictures, 97 mins.
- Shorts – Warner Bros, 89 mins.
- Beeswax – Cinema Guild, 100 mins. – Andrew Bujalski’s film revolves around identical twin sisters, one of whom has been a wheelchair-bound paraplegic since childhood, played by newcomers Tilly and Maggie Hatcher
- Bliss – First Run, 128 mins. – A Turkish drama that involves the near killing of a women accused of giving up her virginity.
