SWEET BEAN, THE LITTLE PRINCE, KRISHA, DIVERGIANT: ALLEGIANT and more Mar 18 Openers — Reviews by Jennifer Merin
Naomi Kawase’s Sweet Bean is a beautifully told tale set in a Tokyo neighborhood pancake shop, where delicious jam, cherry blossoms, friendship and respect still matter. The Little Prince, an animated feature, shares Saint-Exupery’s young hero’s adventures with a girl who, through them, discovers her own imagination. Krisha, Trey Edward Shults’ semi-autobiographical first feature, casts non-actors as themselves in a tension-filled family drama. Allegiant, part one of the third and final chapter in the Divergent franchise, takes Tris and Four to new challenges beyond Chicago. Plus The Brainwashing of My Dad, Thank You For Playing, Miracles From Heaven, The Channel, The Bronze, and The Program. Read the reviews…
