WEEK IN WOMEN: Burnett and Tomlin lauded at 2019 Paley Honors – Brandy McDonnell reports

The Paley Center for Media, formerly known as the Museum of Television & Radio, will celebrate Carol Burnett and Lily Tomlin, along with Norman Lear, Bob Newhart and Carl Reiner, at this fall’s “The Paley Honors: A Special Tribute to Television’s Comedy Legends.”

The event is set for Nov. 21 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.

The Paley Honors spotlights groundbreaking comedic moments from sitcoms, scripted comedies, animated series, as well as variety, talk, and sketch shows.

Each of the comedy icons will receive the Paley Honors Award, acknowledging their enduring impact on television comedy. Continue reading on THE WEEK IN WOMAN.

Brandy McDonnell writes features and reviews movies, music, events and the arts for The Oklahoman, Oklahoma's statewide newspaper, and NewsOK.com, the state's largest news Web site. Raised on a farm near Lindsay, Okla., she started her journalism career in seventh grade, when she was elected reporter for her school's 4-H Club. In 2004, she won a prestigious Journalism Fellowship in Child & Family Policy from the University of Maryland's Philip Merrill College of Journalism.
