WEEK IN WOMEN: Thompson, Burstyn, Wise to co-star in LOST GIRLS – Brandy McDonnell reports

Oscar winners Ellen Burstyn and Emma Thompson, along with Thompson’s daughter Gaia Wise, are set to co-star in the film adaptation of The Lost Girls, a femme-focused coming-of-age spin-off on J.M. Barrie’s classic tale of Peter Pan.

Livia De Paolis, who wrote, directed and starred in the 2014 low-budget feature Emoticon 😉, will do the same on The Lost Girls, the 2003 novel by Laurie Fox that follows multiple generations of Darling women who have life-changing encounters with The Boy Who Wouldn’t Grow Up. Brandy McDonnell

Brandy McDonnell writes features and reviews movies, music, events and the arts for The Oklahoman, Oklahoma's statewide newspaper, and NewsOK.com, the state's largest news Web site. Raised on a farm near Lindsay, Okla., she started her journalism career in seventh grade, when she was elected reporter for her school's 4-H Club. In 2004, she won a prestigious Journalism Fellowship in Child & Family Policy from the University of Maryland's Philip Merrill College of Journalism.
