WEEK IN WOMEN: Gaga to Star in Gucci Murder Movie – Brandy McDonnell reports

In her first film since she earned a best actress Oscar nomination for the 2018 version of Star Is Born, Lady Gaga will star in a movie about the Gucci family fashion empire and the murder of the grandson of its founder, Guccio Gucci.

Gaga will portray Patrizia Reggiani, the ex-wife of Maurizio Gucci, whom he left in 1985 for a younger woman after 12 years of marriage.

Reggiani was tried and convicted of coordinating her ex-husband’s assassination on the steps of his office in Italy in 1995. She was nicknamed Black Widow during the trial and served 18 years before being released from prison in 2016. Continue reading on THE WEEK IN WOMEN

Raised on a farm near Lindsay, Okla., she started her journalism career in seventh grade, when she was elected reporter for her school's 4-H Club. She attended Oklahoma State University, where she worked for The Daily O'Collegian and earned her journalism degree with honors. In 2002, she joined The Oklahoman as a features reporter, writing about movies, the arts, events, families and nonprofits. She moved to The Oklahoman's entertainment desk in 2007. In 2004, she won a prestigious Journalism Fellowship in Child & Family Policy from the University of Maryland's Philip Merrill College of Journalism.
