WEEK IN WOMEN: AARP Honors Annette Bening with Grownups Award – Brandy McDonnell reports

Four-time Oscar nominee Annette Bening will receive the 2019 Movies for Grownups Career Achievement Award from AARP The Magazine.

Bening – a recipient of two Golden Globes and a Screen Actors Guild Award – will be honored at the 19th annual Movies for Grownups Awards ceremony Jan. 11 in Beverly Hills, California.

For nearly two decades, AARP’s Movies for Grownups program has championed movies for grownups, by grownups, by advocating for the 50-plus audience, fighting industry ageism and encouraging films that resonate with older viewers, according to a news release. Continue reading on THE WEEK IN WOMEN.

Raised on a farm near Lindsay, Okla., she started her journalism career in seventh grade, when she was elected reporter for her school's 4-H Club.
