WEEK IN WOMEN: Golden Globes Honors Ellen DeGeneres – Brandy McDonnell reports

Ellen DeGeneres will receive the Carol Burnett Award at the 2020 Golden Globe Awards.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has named DeGeneres the second recipient of the award, which Burnett received at the 2019 Golden Globes ceremony.

A three-time Golden Globe nominee, DeGeneres will accept the honor at at the 2020 ceremony, which airs live Sunday night on NBC.

Chosen by the HFPA board of directors, the Carol Burnett Award is presented to “an honoree who has made outstanding contributions to the television medium on or off the screen.”

It’s the television equivalent of the Golden Globes’ film prize the Cecil B. DeMille Award, which will be presented to Tom Hanks a this year’s ceremony on January 5 in Beverly Hills. Continue reading on THE WEEK IN WOMEN
