WEEK IN WOMEN: Greta Gerwig’s LITTLE WOMEN is Going Home – Brandy McDonnell reports

Nominated for six Academy Awards, including Best Picture, writer-director Greta Gerwig’s fresh, modern adaptation of the timeless Louisa May Alcott masterpiece Little Women will be released on Digital March 10 and Blu-ray and DVD April 7 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

The Blu-ray, DVD and digital releases will take viewers even deeper into the beloved story of the four March sisters, with more than 45 minutes of bonus features, according to a news release. The extras will detail how Gerwig led her unique adaptation of the literary classic with spectacular actors, art direction, costumes, set pieces and how she took inspiration from the real-life Orchard House where Alcott lived and wrote Little Women. Raised on a farm near Lindsay, Okla., she started her journalism career in seventh grade, when she was elected reporter for her school's 4-H Club.
