WEEK IN WOMEN: Helen Mirren to receive Golden Globes’ 2026 Cecil B. DeMille Award – Brandy McDonnell reports
Actress, producer and three-time Golden Globe winner Dame Helen Mirren will be the 70th recipient of the Golden Globes’ Cecil B. DeMille Award in recognition of her enduring contributions to the world of entertainment.
“Helen Mirren is a force of nature and her career is nothing short of extraordinary,” said Helen Hoehne, president of the Golden Globes, in a statement. “Her transcendent performances and commitment to her craft continue to inspire generations of artists and audiences alike. It is a profound honor to present her with the Cecil B. DeMille Award.”
With a career spanning more than six decades, Mirren has delivered a remarkable body of work across stage, film and television. She has earned global recognition for her fearless versatility and her powerhouse portrayals of queens, cops and more.
Mirren has been nominated for 17 Golden Globes, winning three times. She won her first Globe for best actress in a miniseries or TV movie for 1996’s “Losing Chase” and became a double winner at the 2007 awards show, for playing Queen Elizabeth I in the miniseries “Elizabeth I” and Queen Elizabeth II in “The Queen.”
Her previous honors have included an Oscar, multiple Screen Actors Guild Awards, three Emmy Awards, numerous BAFTA Awards, a Tony Award, a BAFTA Fellowship Award, the Film Society at Lincoln Center’s Chaplin Award and the SAG Life Achievement Award. Continue reading on THE WEEK IN WOMEN.
