Jason Sudeikis’ hit comedy series <em>Ted Lasso</em> took a three-year hiatus – now it’s back for a fourth season. Last seen – the ever-optimistic American coach Ted left London to co-parent his young son in his hometown of Kansas City, Missouri. So he’s really surprised when team owner Rebecca Welton, marketing chief Keely Jones and operations head Leslie Higgins unexpectedly arrive stateside, ostensibly to see KC Current, the first stadium designed and built specifically for professional women’s sports.

Lucky, the much anticipated limited drama series starring Golden Globe Award winner, Screen Actors Guild Award winner and Emmy Award nominee Anya Taylor-Joy is coming this summer to Apple TV. Taylor-Joy also serves as executive producer. With a star-studded ensemble cast that also includes Annette Bening, Timothy Olyphant, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, Drew Starkey, Clifton Collins Jr. and William Fichtner, Lucky will make its global debut on Apple TV with the first two episodes on Wednesday, July 15, followed by new episodes every Wednesday through Aug. 19. When a multi-million-dollar heist goes sideways, con artist Lucky (Taylor-Joy) is forced to go on the run. Pursued by both the FBI and a ruthless crime boss, Lucky must fight for her life — and a way out.

After immersing in intrigue with Nine Perfect Strangers and courtroom mystery with Presumed Innocent and The Lincoln Lawyer, prolific showrunner David E. Kelley dives into dramedy with Margo’s Got Money Troubles. Yet despite its all-star cast, this Apple TV series about a pregnant college dropout who turns to OnlyFans skates along the surface, with broad strokes instead of satisfying character development. Based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Rufi Thorpe, Margo’s Got Money Troubles might follow the tone of its source material, but the end result feels like an online profile, revealing only so much instead of proving more introspective.

Based on journalist Lizzie Johnson’s book Paradise: One Town’s Struggle to Survive an American Wildfire, co-writers Paul Greengrass & Brad Inglesby interweave a real school bus driver’s dilemma into a suspense-filled thriller about kids trapped in a wildfire. Greengrass knows exactly how to ramp up tension with handheld cameras and rapid cutting, then defuse it – if only momentarily – before ramping it up again – while the driver copes with backed-up traffic as panicked evacuees overflow the only available roads, along with engine trouble, swirling ash and the deadly, rapidly spreading blaze.

McKay’s captures authentic details of community by casting actual Mexican immigrants, all of them first-time actors and all from Puebla with specific accents to match. McKay ensures immersion in Sunset Park by shooting in real locations, adding so much delicious texture.
