The plot of You, Me & Tuscany is written all over the grape leaves in the family vineyard…culinary school drop out turned house sitter, Anna, travels to Tuscany, squats in the empty villa of a man she’d recently met at a NY bar, pretends to be his fiancé, but falls for his cousin who’s also his brother. A Hallmark movie ensues, complete with a tell it like it is best friend, an overbearing, but loving family, a gorgeous couple, and beautiful scenery. What’s not to like?! There’s a lot of crushing under the Tuscan sun and it isn’t just grapes.

Acclaimed filmmaker Kat Coiro directs Halle Bailey and Regé-Jean Page in her new film You, Me & Tuscany, which opens in theatres on April 10. Coiro is an actor, director, writer and producer whose most recent television project is CBS’ hit Matlock reboot starring Kathy Bates, Skye P. Marshall and Jason Ritter. She served as an executive producer and director on the pilot, and she went on to produce the rest of the series as well as directing several more episodes.

In an art-reflects-life role, J.Lo plays a self-made music superstar and mogul who has practically every waking moment sponsored, filmed and posted to social media. To go with their new hit duet “Marry Me,” she and her fellow pop luminary beau are planning to get married onstage during a sold-out New York City concert that will be live-streamed to millions worldwide.

Chances are you’re going to try to resist Marry Me. You’re going to go into it thinking, “Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson together? Really?” and you’re going to scoff and roll your eyes and make all kinds of groaning noises. And then, against your better judgment, you will get sucked into the story and find yourself smiling when – or, maybe more accurately, even though – that story plays out pretty much exactly how you imagined it would.

This time Owen Wilson is an unwitting Wedding Crasher as mild mannered, divorced math teacher, Charlie, who’s main ambition is to be a cool dad in Marry Me…a just in time for Valentines Day chick flick that men can earn serious brownie points with if they make this movie part of a date night. Don’t be afraid to take the plunge, but don’t have high expectations of wanting to renew these vows.
