Casting Hilary Swank as humorless, abrasive, pugnacious journalist Eileen Fitzgerald on Hulu and ABC-TV’s drama Alaska Daily really works. Yet – despite encouraging initial ratings – the series is taking a long hiatus which may dissipate whatever tension and interest it initially provoked.
