Oscars long shots

The fall festival wave will begin with Telluride on August 30th, followed closely by Venice and Toronto. Right now is the moment to start looking for talent at the fringes and supporting them with the primary power of our pens. Longshots do happen – look no further than Dolly De Leon of Triangle of Sadness who catapulted her career with BAFTA and Golden Globes nominations for Best Supporting Actress in 2023. Another name that comes to mind is Roma’s Yalitza Aparicio who nailed a Best Actress Oscar nomination in 2019.
