Trace some British history via PBC Masterpiece Victoria, an eight-part drama with an all-star cast, including Jenna Coleman as the young Queen, Rufus Sewell as Lord Melbourne and Tom Hughes as Prince Albert. In 1837 upon the death of King William IV, impulsive 18-year-old Victoria succeeded to the throne but adjusting to her newfound role was not easy. Guiding her through this transition was her Prime Minister, chivalrous Lord Melbourne (whose wife left him for Lord Byron) with whom she developed an intense friendship/infatuation. trace some British history via PBC Masterpiece Victoria, an eight-part drama with an all-star cast, including Jenna Coleman as the young Queen, Rufus Sewell as Lord Melbourne and Tom Hughes as Prince Albert.

SCOOP – Review by Susan Granger

Scoop, Netflix’s drama about the downfall of Prince Andrew, drives home the old proverb – “If you lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas” – a warning to be mindful of who we surround ourselves with and what behavior we condone. The plot of Scoop revolves around how – back in 2019 – the BBC secured an exclusive interview with the Duke of York about his friendship with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. The broadcast ultimately triggered Andrew’s disgrace, confiscating his HRH title, patronages and removing him from Royal life.

SCOOP – Review by Liz Braun

Prince Andrew is a prat and his handlers were fools to let him do that interview about Jeffrey Epstein with BBC Newsnight’s Emily Maitlis. That’s the main take-away in Scoop, a new Netflix feature that recreates the infamous 2019 interview that went so badly for the buffoonish prince that it altered his public role forever. Andrew came off as an entitled blowhard and the Epstein scandal just got bigger.

Rufus Sewell on THE MAN IN THE HIGH CASTLE and Donald Trumph — Gill Pringle interviews

November 17, 2016January 28, 2019 Gill Pringle (Archived Contributor) 0 Comments rufus sewell

Rufus Sewell, 49, has received some of the best reviews of his career for his role as Obergruppenführer John Smith in Amazon Prime’s The Man in The High Castle. Loosely based on a Philip K Dick novel, it poses an alternative history of North America if the Nazis had won the Second World War. It’s little surprise that the Donald Trump campaign was one of the main advertisers on the show, about which he says, “I don’t think that’s an accident.”
