THE 2010 EDA AWARDS COCKTAILS
- PAS DE DOWN AND DIRTY, honoring Black Swan, presents a pointedly pretty and heated pas de deux of Blue Ice Vodka and Canton Ginger Liqueur embellished with Rishi Masala Chai Concentrate and steamed milk, and garnished with whipped cream, a succulent ripe blackberry and ballerina swizzle stick, served in a glass mug. Sweet at first sip, this midnight pick-me-up has soul-stirring spice that will keep you on your toes. You’ll find the complete recipe below.
- THE TWO-TALE DRAGON, honoring The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and How To Tame Your Dragon, will sate those bold enough to play with fire with a quenching blend of Blue Ice Vodka, Triple Sec, cranberry juice and blood orange juice served in a highball glass, garnished with a skewered red grapefruit candy slice or orange wedge and red gumdrop. The brew will embolden you — but beware the sting in this dragon’s tail. How strong is it? Check the recipe below.
- THE PREDATORY [B]LENDER, honoring Inside Job, delivers a potent and enticing money-colored flow of Midori Melon Liqueur, Blue Ice Vodka and lemonade in a martini glass, with a drop or two of bitters — the Angustora kind — to keep it real. Oh, and the garnish is a green candy fish, preferably shark-shaped and speared on a $$$ sign swizzle stick. Cash in on the complete recipe below.
- HERE’S TO THE KIDS, honoring The Kids Are All Right, is a fancifully fruity fantasy of Blue Ice Vodka, Rishi Organic Peach Blossom Tea and lychee puree, served shaken or frozen in a tall glass, and garnished with a colored-sugar rim, gummy bears and a long straw. Candy is dandy, liquor is quicker and really, Moms, who wants to dicker? Especially not over the recipe given below.
- ROYAL-TEA-TINI, honoring The King’s Speech, makes an eloquent statement with a smooth blend of Blue Ice Vodka, Rishi Organic Earl Grey Tea, fresh lime and fresh lemon in a Martini glass with a sugared rim, twist of lime on top and a Union Jack swizzle stick. Tea is always properly bracing, and who’s to know when it’s served with a little something extra for fortification? Just how much extra? See the recipe below.
- THE FACEBOOK FIZZ, honoring The Social Network is the friend of fans who want to share a splash. Pour three bold players — Blue Ice Vodka, Jagermeister and Red Bull — into an ice-filled 16 oz. glass, cap with cherries, flag with the FB logo on a swizzle stick and present with two extra-long flexi-straws. Fortune favors the bold, and the bold favor this brash brew for two. Link to the recipe below.
