Evan (Seann William Scott) values family above all else, and anyone who gets between him, his wife, and newborn son learn that the hard way. But when it comes to violent tendencies, it seems the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. BLOODLINE stars Seann William Scott (American Pie franchise, “Lethal Weapon”), Mariela Garriga (Nightmare Cinema, “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit”), Dale Dickey (Leave No Trace, Hell or High Water) and Kevin Carroll (Velvet Buzzsaw, “The Leftovers”). BLOODLINE is the feature film directorial debut of director and co-writer Henry Jacobson who was an executive producer of the critically acclaimed The Wind.

Sean William Scott, who is most affectionately know as Stiffler from the American Pie franchise, branches out in the new horror Bloodline. On the surface this film has a real Dexter feel to its storyline. Scott plays a high school social worker with homicidal tendencies. Under the stress of becoming a new father, his fuse is shorter than usual. He cares a lot about the people in his life. He kills because he cares. But his habits were learned. The title is a double entendre for the plot. Through flashbacks, we learn more about the origin of his behavior.

Sean William Scott is unlike you’ve ever seen him before. Take all your preconceived notions about him and throw them out the window. He is equally terrifying as he is sincere. I really hope the industry takes note of this performance. It’s incredibly nuanced. Dale Dickey is the most amazing. Paired with Scott, you would swear the two were actually related because their chemistry is so organic. I absolutely found her mesmerizing.  The script is beautifully complex. It challenges the parent-child relationship and delves into nature Vs nurture. You will not expect the twists and turns as they roll out. Combined with high end and brutal practical effects, Bloodline is a really solid thriller.

Momentum Pictures will release the horror film BLOODLINE in theaters, on-demand and digital on September 20, 2019.
