French filmmaker Claire Denis’ long-awaited English-language debut “High Life” is coming to theaters.

A24 has acquired North American distribution rights to the “Beau Travail” helmer’s sci-fi drama, which recently made its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival, according to Deadline Hollywood.

The tale of a father and daughter struggling to survive in deep space, the film stars Robert Pattinson, Juliette Binoche, Mia Goth and André Benjamin. The movie was written by Denis, Jean-Pol Fargeau and Geoff Cox, and it has drawn comparisons to the science fiction of Stanley Kubrick and Andrei Tarkovsky.

The deal was in the low seven figures, Deadline reports, and A24 will launch it into cinemas with a traditional theatrical release.

Here is a synopsis of the film, from the Toronto Film Festival:

The destination is the black hole within closest reach of Earth. The spaceship’s crew is a collection of dangerous prisoners, last-chancers with nothing left to lose. At first Monte (Robert Pattinson) is the only crew member awake, rigorously tending to the ship to keep them all alive as they hurtle through space. But Monte is also caring for a baby daughter, born on board. This anomaly is only the first sign of the chaos to come. As Monte’s self-discipline slips, the crew awakens and conflicts erupt.
