Bill Murray and Sofia Coppola on the set of the 2015 Netflix special “A Very Murray Christmas.”

Writer-director Sofia Coppola will reunite with Bill Murray, whom she directed in her Oscar-winning 2003 film “Lost in Translation,” for the upcoming feature “On the Rocks.”

The adventure-drama will mark Apple and A24’s first film partnership after the two companies announced a multi-year feature slate deal in November, reports Deadline Hollywood.

Rashida Jones will co-star in “On the Rocks” as a young mother who reconnects with her larger-than-life playboy father (Murray) on an adventure through New York.

Production will begin in spring in New York.

Coppola won a best original screenplay Oscar for “Lost in Translation,” a drama that starred Murray as a faded movie star who forges an unlikely bond with a neglected young woman (Scarlett Johansson) after they cross paths in Tokyo. In addition, Coppola was nominated for best director, Murray for best actor, and the movie earned a best picture nod.

Coppola also directed Murray in the 2015 Netflix holiday special “A Very Murray Christmas.”

Coppola will produce “On the Rocks” with Youree Henley, according to Deadline. Mitch Glazer and Roman Coppola are executive producing; both were executive producers on “A Very Murray Christmas,” with Glazer also co-writing.

A24 previously worked with Coppola on her 2013 crime caper “The Bling Ring,” which was inspired by true events.

“On the Rocks” will be the auteur’s follow-up to 2017’s “The Beguiled.” Coppola made history at the 70th Cannes Film Festival as just the second woman in the event’s history to win best director for the drama.
