“Thor: Love and Thunder” director Taika Waititi hands the Thor hammer to Natalie Portman during the Marvel Studios panel at Comic-Con International on in San Diego.

Natalie Portman has been declared worthy to wield the hammer of Thor.

Writer-director Taika Watiti, who directed 2017’s “Thor: Ragnarok” and will return to helm “Thor 4,”  presented Portman with the superhero’s hammer Saturday during the Marvel Studios panel at Comic-Con International

After playing astrophysicist Jane Foster, Thor’s love interest, in the first two movies in the Marvel series, the Oscar winner will portray the female Thor in the fourth installment, titled “Thor: Love and Thunder.”

The film will open in theaters in fall 2021, according to Deadline.

The fourth installment will be based on Jason Aron’s 2014 “The Mighty Thor” comics storyline, in which Jane became the female Thor, goddess of thunder.

“That story line is incredible is full emotion, love and thunder and introduces for the first time female Thor,” Waititi said.

Chris Hemsworth, who has played the god of thunder in all the “Thor” and “Avengers” films, and Tessa Thompson, who played Valkyrie in “Thor: Ragnarok,” appeared alongside Portman and Watiti at Comic-Con.

In the fourth “Thor” film, Valkyrie will be “re-investing in her people” and rebuilding Asgard, said Thompson.

“The love I feel for him is thunder,” said Thompson.

Neither Thompson nor Hemsworth have seen the “Love and Thunder” script yet, although Hemsworth jokingly offered his theory about what Thor might be doing in “Thor 4.”

“He’s heading to the 7-11 for a little Netflix subscription and at this point he might be on the couch, who knows,” Hemsworth said.
