Kristin Chenoweth is joining the streaming revolution.

Deadline reports that the award-winning actor and singer will star in the planned Disney+ series “The Biggest Star In Appleton.” The Mouse House’s new streaming service is developing the half-hour, single-camera comedy from Chenoweth, playwright and screen scribe Paul Rudnick and producer Dan Jinks.

Created and written by Rudnick, “The Biggest Star In Appleton” will star Chenoweth as Carol Dannhauser, a devoted Wisconsin mom and wife who works as a waitress but finds fulfillment as the star at the local community theater. Her small-town star status is threatened when Tara Hubley, a struggling New York chorus girl, moves back home with her own dreams.

Chenoweth, Rudnick and Jinks are executive producers, according to Deadline, and 20th Century Fox TV, part of Disney TV Studios, is the studio.

Chenoweth previously won an Emmy Award starring opposite Lee Pace in the ABC series “Pushing Daisies,” which Jinks also produced.

The new project is also a reunion for Jinks and Rudnick, who previously collaborated on the dark comedy “I Shudder” starring Hamish Linklater, which went to pilot at TV Land.

Rudnick has written hit movies like “Sister Act” and “Addams Family Values” and penned plays like “Jeffrey” and “The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told.” He is currently writing the book to the Broadway musical “The Devil Wears Prada,” which will boast a score by Elton John.

Jinks won an Oscar for producing “American Beauty.” His other producing credits include features “Milk” and “Big Fish,” the Broadway adaptation of “Big Fish” and the TV series “Traveler.” He’s currently producing “Marley,” “A Christmas Carol” musical feature in the works at Disney with a screenplay and direction by Bill Condon and a score by Stephen Schwartz.

They’re good matches for Chenoweth, who likes to mix up stage and screen gigs. A Tony Award winner, the Oklahoma native is coming off the sold-out limited Broadway run of her “Kristin Chenoweth: For the Girls.”

And Chenoweth stars opposite Scott Wolf (“Party of Five”) in the new Hallmark Channel movie “A Christmas Love Story,” debuting Saturday. The telefilm focuses on a youth choir director (Chenoweth) who needs to write a big song for a big Christmas Eve show but finds herself distracted when a boy with a golden voice (Kevin Quinn) joins her choir, surprising his widowed father (Wolf).
