Nicole Holofcener to receive Screenwriters Tribute Award at Nantucket Film Festival
In recent years, Holofcener has become a sought-after collaborator and has produced films like the Oscar-nominated screenplay “Can You Ever Forgive Me,” which she co-wrote with Jeff Whitty, and The National Board of Review-winning film “The Last Duel,” directed by Ridley Scott.

“The Gatekeeper” is a historical drama based on the story of Frances Kelsey, the FDA medical reviewer who in the early 1960s fought a major pharmaceutical firm to keep the drug thalidomide off the American market. The script is based on Vanderbes’ upcoming nonfiction book “Wonder Drug: The Secret History of Thalidomide in America and Its Hidden Victims.”

The Producers Guild of America has named Chinonye Chukwu’s fact-based drama Till as its 2023 Stanley Kramer Award honoree. The Stanley Kramer Award lauds a production, producer, or other individuals whose achievement or contribution illuminates and raises public awareness of important social issues, the PGA revealed on Facebook. Producers Keith Beauchamp, Barbara Broccoli, Whoopi Goldberg, Thomas Levine, Michael Reilly and Frederick Zollo will share the honor at the ceremony at the 34th Annual Producers Guild Awards, scheduled for Feb. 25 at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California.
